Project Fly Alpha Event

projectfly_splashChicago based QuakeStudios will be unveiling the Alpha Build of Project Fly: First Strike.  Set in the streets of an alternate Chicago, the game will serve a bridge to the innovative film project. Project Fly First Strike will utilize the Unity 3D game engine and will be available on Windows and Mac OS platforms initially. The Alpha Event is open to members of the CEGD and SGC. We will have updates from the event later today.

New Web Series in Development

Development is underway on a new web series on game development in association with Social Games Chicago. The series, called “Objective: Alpha” will take gamers and developers behind the screens and inside the development process.

CEGD Presents: StarCrane

Chicago game development heats up with the start of the “StarCrane” project. The “StarCrane” project is a four segment C/C# game development project produced in coordination with Egsa SoftWorks. The game’s development will span every step from the pitch session to explain the idea to hands on development tutorials to take the game from concept to an alpha build. “StarCrane” is the first of two development projects at the CEGD. While “StarCrane” will focus on building a game for Windows Desktops, “Alpha Trigger” project will focus on building a game for Android.

The bulk of the code for the “Star Crane” project will be released as Creative Commons (CC BY 3.0) allowing other developers to share an make other use of the work with attribution. The game name and logo are used under license of Egsa SoftWorks and may not be reused without licensing.

The first CEGD game development project is now underway with “Alpha Trigger!” The “Alpha Trigger” project is a game designed to run on Android based devices. The project allows developers of all skill levels to participate in the construction of game. The game will be presented from concept to an alpha build with CEGD memebers adding their own levels, enemies and elements to the base design.
